BECOME AN İNSTRUCTOR

How do I become
a driving instructor?

Becoming a certified driving instructor is a demanding journey. However, with dedication and the proper guidance from a skilled driving instructor trainer, your chances of success significantly improve. You'll need to pass three exams, with up to three attempts allowed for each. Furthermore, you have a two-year timeframe to complete all three exams, starting from the date you pass the first exam, ADI Part 1.

What are the 3 tests to become an ADI?

We are passionate about training people to become safer drivers, improve road safety as well as helping them to pass their driving tests successfully.

Part 1 - Theory and Hazard Perception

The ADI Part 1 is like the learner driver theory test but tougher. As an experienced driver, you'll answer more questions, and the passing score is higher. The learner's theory test has 50 questions with a pass mark of 43, while the ADI theory test has 100 questions, and you need a score of 85 to pass.

Part 2 - Test of Driving Ability

The ADI Part 2 is like the practical driving test for learners, but with higher expectations for experienced drivers. In a learner's driving test, you can have up to 15 driver faults, whereas in the ADI Part 2 test, you're allowed only 6 driving faults during the one-hour session.

Part 3 - Test of Instructional Ability

The ADI Part 3 assesses your teaching skills and instructional ability. During this test, an examiner will observe you while you instruct a pupil. While it's possible to complete all 3 exams in just 3 months, most trainees, especially those balancing training with a job, typically take between 6 to 12 months to complete their training.
